The Jazz Sounds of The WAITIKI 7: Tomorrow @ 6:30 PM, Gordon Biersch Aloha Tower

Weds 4/7, Gordon Biersch Aloha Tower, 6:30 PM

Salute the swing, Latin jazz, and bebop sides of exotica. From seldom-heard tunes, like Arthur Lyman’s “Leis of Jazz,” or Lee Morgan’s “Totem Pole,” to originals of our own—there’ll be something for everyone, exotica fans old and new. Not to mention our favorite Martin Denny arrangements, like “Black Orchid,” and “Quiet Village,” which are just too good to pass up! Many thanks to Robert Shinoda, curator of the Gordon Biersch Jazz Wednesdays series, for hosting us.

  • About The WAITIKI 7

  • The WAITIKI 7 are helping to define a new movement in Exotica.

Dedicated to the preservation and resurgence of Exotica music, and the related tiki culture, W7 is modeled after the classic groups of Martin Denny, Arthur Lyman, and Gene Rains. The WAITIKI 7 is the only modern group that performs exotica completely live and acoustic—just like in the 1950s.
